The tenth anniversary is a significant milestone that needs to be celebrated together and in the best way possible. The traditional symbol for the tenth anniversary is tin or aluminum - demonstrated the toughness and durability of their relationship, and their devotion to for each other. Having said that, at first glance it would seem really difficult to think up interesting gifts of aluminum or tin! But with a bit of imagination you can come up with some gifts they will treasure.
One of the obvious gifts for the tenth anniversary is a large tin of chocolates or cookies. These can actually be personalized - either the wrapping or the tin - which makes the gift extra special. You can of course have the tin presented in a gift basket with perhaps some flowers.
If they have been married for ten years they they obviously enjoy each other's company. A video, DVD or even a game presented in a tin is a nice idea. You could even get really clever and get the movie "Tin Cup" to make it even more appropriate. (I have to confess no movie with the word "aluminum" in the title springs to mind!)
You could buy an aluminum suitcase. This would be a marvellous way of giving her that weekend away or a week at the beach, by putting the tickets inside.
There are a lot of household items that relate to the tenth anniversary theme - fridges, cookware, coffee makers, pots and pans etc. This may seem boring but if you really need them and money is tight they are good things to buy together. What you should NOT do is buy your wife anything with a plug without choosing it together.
The great thing about tin or aluminum is that you can get literally anything and put it in a tin. Concert/travel tickets, jewelry and cuddly toys can all fit in a tin as can most things you can think of!
As is always the case there are a lot more gifts available than you may think - whether you are looking for something practical or unique. It's worth spending the time and effort searching the internet, looking at catalogs and visiting stores to find something that will be appreciated for a reasonable price.
